Dear Lamplight Family,

We are pleased to share with you the exciting things that God is doing through Lamplight Ministries in many different countries. Praise the Lord. We are grateful to you for your prayers and for your financial support that enables us to help many people around the world.

You can order our publications from our website, from our post office box or the 800 telephone number at the bottom of this page.

Twenty-two people in a Sunday school class in Iowa are greatly blessed by What Does God Say? The leader of this class said, “Our class meets for two hours each Sunday. We have discussed six or seven of your previous books in past classes. Your new book is the best one yet. The response from the people in our class has been phenomenal. One lady who was not assured of her eternal salvation now is assured that she will live eternally in heaven. We begin each class by asking people to state their biggest problem. Once the problems of the members of the class are defined, we choose which of the 94 topics to discuss. The people in our class are telling other people about this book. Please send us ten more copies with an invoice. I believe the church book store soon will be ordering several copies so that other people in the church can purchase this book.”

A woman in the philippines was healed of cancer after reading Exchange Your Worries for God's Perfect Peace. Maria Mimarillas said, “I was so excited after I read the first chapter of Exchange Your Worries for God's Perfect Peace. My faith in God increased steadily as I read the remaining chapters. I received an opportunity to test my newfound faith when the persistent and painful stomach problem I had was diagnosed as cancer. I wanted to test my faith, not die so soon with it. After a very powerful prayer and hands laid on me, I felt something break inside of my body. To make a long story short, there is no cancer, no more pain, no more fear, no chemotherapy or no radiation. My faith has made me whole. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

a pastor in alaska said that Trust God for Your Finances was the catalyst for a debtfree lifestyle. Dr. Ken Friendly said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your ministry and the passion you have to spread this almost too good to be true Gospel! Your writings have been a tremendous blessing to me personally and to my church family. I first read Trust God for Your Finances in 1983 as a young Christian. This book was the catalyst for the debtfree lifestyle we now enjoy. Thanks for obeying God. May His favor continue to overtake you and your ministry.”

A man from wisconsin said that What Does God Say? is our best book ever. This man said, “Thank you for your new book, What Does God Say?. I love it. It’s fantastic. This book is just what I was looking for. I would like my family to have copies. Could you send me six copies and an invoice? I think this book will be your best book ever. I still keep going back to some of the old books for encouragement and spiritual reflection.”

COMMENTS FROM JACK HARTMAN

A progress report on our next book. Victory Over Adversity continues to move steadily forward. We are almost half way through Draft 3. This book will give you facts from the Bible that will tell you exactly what to do to deal with the problems in the world and how to walk in the victory that Jesus Christ has given to you.

We believe that God’s timing on this book is perfect as always. We do not know if the problems the world is facing at this time will get worse. However, we do know that this book will give you hundreds of answers from God that will tell you exactly what to do to walk in the victory that Jesus Christ has won for you.

Are you absolutely certain where you will go when you die? Several people have commented to me about how much they enjoyed What Does God Say?. Whenever I can see an opportunity to talk with an individual for a few minutes, I always ask that person who has just commented on this book, “Are you absolutely certain where you will go when you die?”

During the past month, I have asked this point of five people who told me they enjoyed the book. This book tells exactly where you will go when you die and exactly what is required to go to heaven or what will send you to hell. Not one of these people who had read the book knew the correct answer to this question. All five of these people gave me an answer that essentially says, “I hope that I will live in heaven.”

Hoping you will live in heaven will not get you there. You must know that you will live eternally in heaven because Jesus Christ paid the full price for all of your sins and, because He paid that price, you will live eternally in heaven. All that you need to do is to repent of your sins and to say that you are trusting completely in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that living a good life will get you to heaven. Many people tell me that they believe they have lived a good life and that this good life will get them to heaven. This is not what the Bible says. Romans 3:23 says that every person (with the exception of Jesus Christ) is a sinner. James 2:10 says that God looks at a person who has sinned once just as He looks at a person who has sinned repeatedly.

Adolf Hitler could go to heaven if he trusted Jesus Christ. Osama bin Laden could go to heaven if he trusted Jesus Christ. Mass murderers can go to heaven if they trust Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation (see John 7:37).

Sadly, many people today focus almost entirely on the seventy, eighty or ninety years they expect to live on earth and totally ignore the endless trillions of years of eternity. If you are not absolutely certain where you will go when you die, you must carefully study pages 25-49 of What Does God Say?.

You can live eternally in the glory of heaven if you trust Jesus Christ completely for your eternal salvation. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven (see John 6:44). If you are trusting in any other way of living in heaven except for Jesus Christ, you will live eternally in hell.

Do not make the major mistake of not learning exactly what is required for you to live eternally in a place that is so great that words cannot describe it. The Bible says that your eyes have never seen and your ears have never heard and you have never even imagined the glory of heaven (see I Corinthians 2:9).

If you are not certain that you will live eternally in heaven, now is the time to get serious about your eternal destiny. Carefully study pages 25-49 and follow God’s specific instructions so that you will live eternally with Him in heaven.

COMMENTS FROM JUDY HARTMAN

Dear Lamplight family,

I want to honor a treasured friend of Lamplight. We never met in person, but we shared in the Lord through our notes to each other for many years. Chester Mulder of Sun City, California recently was absent from the body and present with the Lord after having been a witness for Jesus Christ right up to his last breath well into his nineties.

A note to us from Chester written on October 4, 2006: Hi, Jack and Judy: Your book on divine healing is a daily blessing. Thanks. God has wonderful surprises for His people. I anticipate you and I will share them together. What a future! Chester Mulder

On January 2, 2008 Chester wrote: “Happy New Year, Jack and Judy. Hope each day is chuck full of happy surprises. Aren’t you glad the Lord loves you and is causing everything to work together for your eternal welfare? How great is our God?” Chester (Please pray for Chester’s family who will are missing this saint of God immeasurably as we do.)

God has commissioned us to take the gospel to the nations. Do you realize that God has brought the nations to us? I will begin assisting Dr. Nancy Sue Laminack in the teaching of English to immigrants at our church, Christ Church, in Palm Harbor. (I have a Master’s Degree in Secondary Reading so literacy is a passion of mine.)

Lamplight is partnering with LEI (Literacy and Evangelism International with headquarters in Tulsa, OK). The reading lessons are filled with the gospel. We will train thirteen volunteers for eight hours on November 1. Then each of them will be ready to tutor one student. Nancy Sue, one of the loveliest and most gifted teachers I have ever met, is available to come to your church for free to do the same things at your church or for any group. We do not know when Jesus Christ will return. You can help to fulfill Jesus’ last words to us: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature,” (Mark 16:15). Please let me know if this ministry rings a bell for youJ

We are praying for each of you as you face the economic crisis in the United States. We pray that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers (III John 2). Creativity is necessary at this time. Witty ideas and inventions may come to you. You may find things that you can barter rather than exchange for money. We all must simplify our lives in every area.

I am so excited about our new organic square foot gardens that were just completed yesterday by the handiest men on earth, Danny Bobber and his dad, Bob. We used Mel Bartholomew’s New Square Food Gardening book for the design. Danny kept improving on it. The result is two four by eight foot raised wood-framed beds with an automatic drip watering system with a mulch walkway and a four foot wooden lattice fence lined with chicken wire to keep the rabbits out. I have planted lettuce, tomatoes, red peppers, and cucumbers so far. I will add peas, broccoli, cabbage, kale, collards, and more lettuce. We will be eating our salads right from the garden. I am ecstatic! Buy some seeds or plants and plant them in a pot for your garden saladJ

A pastor in Delaware, Pastor Bob Mathieson, told me that he ordered thirty copies of Trust God for Your Finances because of today’s financial situation. He has been the overseer of a number of house churches, called The Outreach of God’s Word, for twenty-five years. He wants the people go back and check the basics. The house churches meet together once a month, but now twice a month because of the current crisis. He has used Trust God for Your Finances in the past. He tells his people, “If the economy scares you, your life is not built on solid ground. There are no guarantees that this thing will turn around or that it won’t happen again.” He teaches the people to become debt free, exercising temperance, a fruit of the Spirit.

Pastor Ken Friendly of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Anchorage, Alaska told me that he uses Unshakable Faith in Almighty God as a devotional. His church orders our Scripture cards often because they can’t keep them on hand. They are gone as soon as they arrive!

A minister from New Jersey wrote: “I don’t know where to start. In reading your book, Trust God for Your Finances, I felt ashamed. I as a Christian have been failing God and not trusting in Him as I should my entire life. But as I continued to read your book, it also let me know that there is still hope for me. Despite the situations (financial or other), God wants me to be totally dependent on Him. Should I expect tomatoes if I have never planted tomato seeds? The answer is no!

“I thank you for allowing God to use you. I’m in financial debt right now. I had no answer for it, so I went on amazon.com and found your book. I thank God that I have the answer now. I also gave it to my wife to read and I told my brother who ordered five of your books. My job is laying off and my wife does not work, but God is not limited by these circumstances. PRAISE THE LORD!” Please pray for this pastor, his family, and his ministry.

Jack, you may have this one already: it is Don Eichelberger’s: A man from Iowa told me: “We’re studying your latest book in Sunday School. I ask the group, “Who has challenges in their lives?” As the answers are given, we decide on a topic and then go to that chapter in your book, What Does God Say? Most people don’t spend much time in the Bible. Jack has it all alphabetized. We will read for about fifteen minutes and then lay hands on people and pray for them.”

A lady from Georgia told me, “I have been thinking of retiring from real estate. I want to do something else for God. Fear starts bothering me. Your book, Conquering Fear, helps me a lot.”

A lady from Nebraska wrote: “Every time I read one of your books or just immerse myself in the Bible, God’s Word, I feel I am rededicating my life to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Thank you so much for your sharing God’s Book of Instruction in all of your writings.

A lady in California told me: “Your cards on healing are very convincing. If we accept salvation, we should accept His healing as well. With His stripes, we are healed. If we accept our spiritual healing, we should accept our physical healing.”

From a Lamplight partner: “The comments from people who have read your books are very inspiring. They really make me feel like we are making a difference in people’s lives.”

A lady from Ohio told me: “In all of your books you have the Scripture to exchange worry for. I tell you, Judy, when I am facing a difficulty, I go right to your books. The Lord wants you to make an exchange. He never tells you to put off something without putting on something. Your books are so steeped in Scripture, that no matter what fear or worry I have, I go to the worry verses. I can focus on what I need to put on.”

A lady from Florida wrote: “Thank you so much for sending me What Does God Say? It is fabulous-very helpful. I’m amazed at how much information you enclosed in one book. Please send me five more copies. I want to share with family and friends.”

We love you and thank God for our Lamplight family.

We thank God for the joy of helping to cover the earth with God’s Word. “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea,” (Isaiah 11:9, Habakkuk 2:14),
